Levon Helm John Fogerty Review

This concert took place at the Rexall Centre on the grounds of York University.
It was quite an experience driving through the Jane and Finch area to get to this concert.
We wanted to stop to grab a couple of teas but were scared to get out of our car so went by the takeout window at McDonalds instead. I have never felt scared in an area of Toronto before. There was plenty of polic activity. So if you are heading to the Rexall Centre going up Keele St. would be advised.

However, once on the grounds of York University we breathed a sigh of relief.
Hadn’t been to this venue before. It is a delightful small open air stadium originally built to house tennis matches. The accoustics were good and it was a very enjoyable evening as the weather co-operated beautifully.

The concert was a very mixed experience. Usually the front runner band is not as good as the main band. In this case the Levon Helm Band was phenomenal while the main act John Fogerty left much to be desired. The Levon Helm Band were fantastic musicians, close together on the stage, extremely involved with each other, the audience, they had a good time, we had a good time and great fun was had by all. Levon Helm if you are old enough to remember was one of the orginal members of the band.   Levon Helm and The Band

Fogerty on the other hand gave the impression he was with a pickup band. The lights only focused on the very self involved Fogerty who was not inclusive of his musicians or the audience. All though they played very well and technically all was good we soon became bored and left halfway thru this part of the show. 10 points for Helm. 4 Points for Fogerty for thinking it was just all about him.

This always reminds me that while I am selling Toronto Real Estate and I need to be professional with my clients at all times it doesn’t hurt to effectively wear a lampshade from time to time to make sure that they are involved and having fun.
