Grandma’s Banana Nut Bread

Banana bread not only tastes delicious, it’s good for you, and a GREAT way to use up those over ripe bananas!   Anyone can mix up this bread and bake it. If my husband can do it, believe me, anyone can!

Here is what you’re going to need to make 2 loaves.

*3 really ripe bananas
*2 eggs
*1 1/2 cups of flour
*1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts are what grandma always used) and you can add a few more if you really like a lot of nuts!
*1 1/2 cups sugar
*1 stick (8 TB) of butter softened
*1 tsp. baking soda
*1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Butter your loaf pans and set them aside. Sift the baking soda into the flour and set aside, mix the rest of the ‘wet’ ingredients (except the bananas and nuts) together until they’re fairly smooth. Add the flour a bit at a time until you have a nice batter. Mush up the bananas with a fork and add to the batter, and then mix in the nuts. Pour evenly into the two loaf pans and bake for about 55 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the bread comes out clean. Remove from oven and set on a rack for about 10 minutes to cool. Remove loaf from pan. Enjoy! You can thank me later!
