September 3-6: Toronto’s Hispanic Fiesta
Toronto’s Hispanic Fiesta is going to be taking place at Mel Lastman Square.
This year will be the 29th Anniversary of the festival. Bring out the entire family to be entertained by Andean Music, mariachis, tango performers,and Flamenco dancers!
There will be over three hundred local, national, and international live performers attending, so be sure bring the children along with you.
The entire family can participate in the Children’s Showcase which will introduce children to the Latin America and Spain cultures through arts and crafts, puppets, clowns, and magicians!
September 8-18: Toronto Independent Film Festival
Toronto Independent Film Festival is a great festival that brings together independent films from around the world!
In celebration of the event, opening night is free, now you have no excuse not to check it out.
All the footage you’ll see at this event are very low budget to no budget films, there is no million dollar industry behind them.
This festival is taking place at Toronto Underground Cinema (186 Spadina Avenue).
Tickets for this festival are $8 per day (opening night is free) or you can go everyday with the $50 pass!
September 9-19: Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)
Toronto International Film Festival is ten days of celebrities and media!
Taking place at it’s new home, the TIFF Bell Lightbox, this is known to be the most important film festival following Cannes.

September 11-12: Taste of the Kingsway Festival
Taste of the Kingsway Festival is one of the greatest festivals because, there is literally something that everyone can enjoy.
Throughout the festival you can check out the artisans and crafters pavilions, face painters, rock climbing walls, hockey zones, basketball courts, and auto displays, it’s completely up to you to explore!
The entire family will enjoy the delicious cuisine samples from around the world, that are created by the chefs of over 30 Kingsway restaurants.
Enjoy the live musical performances while at beer and wine gardens or on the midway rides, games, and attractions.
The Taste of the Kingsway Festival can be found along Bloor Street West between Prince Edward Drive and Montgomery Road.
September 11-12: Cabbagetown Festival
Cabbagetown Festival completely takes over Toronto’s Cabbagetown neighbourhood for two days!
The reasoning behind this festival is simply to celebrate the rich history, lively present, and great future of the amazing Cabbagetown neighbourhood.
Come down to Cabbagetown to enjoy the grand parade, live street entertainment and music, or part take in the mini-marathon!
Unique vendors fill the streets for you to check out, offering you anything and everything from bathroom soap to fancy jewelery.
Many people check out the Cabbagetown Festival simply for the “Sacred Cabbage”.
September 17-19: Toronto Ukrainian Festival
Toronto Ukrainian Festival the largest Ukrainian street festival in all of North America!
The event takes place in Toronto’s beautiful Bloor West Village.
Enjoy the Ukrainian music Live performers from Canada, USA, and of course Ukraine travel to Toronto to perform!
Make sure to indulge in the authentic Ukrainian food, and check out the “Sidewalk Sale” that all the local businesses participate in throughout the weekend’s celebrations.
If your in a dancing mood, like everyone else seems to be during the Ukrainian Festical, then you’ll want to check out the Zabava/Street Dance on Friday and Saturday to dance your night away!
Be sure to see the newly added art Show, and you won’t want to miss Saturday’s parade at 11am.
September 20-26: Toronto’s Beer Week
Toronto’s Beer Week is an entire week dedicated to you know it, beer!
This happens to be the first-ever Toronto Beer Week, so you will not want to miss out on the fun!
Throughout the week you can check out different events for each day, you’ll need to check out the schedule for your interests.
Take part in the “Beerology” sessions to learn just about everything that goes into making beer.
Maybe you just like drinking beer, well you’ll wanna go out on pint night with Ontario’s top 10 rated beers on tap!
There is delicious food around just about everywhere, that you’ll enjoy especially throughout the week, everything from sausage to chocolate!
Toronto is invaded by over forty-five venues, fifteen breweries, and five importers, all just to take part in Toronto’s Beer Week and help celebrate beer!
September 24 -26: The Clothing Show
The Clothing Show is every Shopaholics dream come true!
The Clothing Show includes over 300 shops that are all easily accessible in the Better Living Centre at Exhibition Place!
Local designers, retailers, accessories, jewelry, vintage, and Eco-friendly clothing shops gather together to celebrate this event, and showcase their best wares.
You can purchase your ticket online for $8 or $10 at the door, this admission fee pays for itself with the free Eco-friendly bag you receive upon entering. The bag is filled with free product samples and coupons!
Once inside you’ll want to be sure to check out the art gallery, and fashion shows!
September 26: Word on the Street
Word on the Street is a one day celebration with the goal of making Toronto 100% literate through the support of literacy awareness programs.
This event is fun and for the entire family to enjoy!
Word on the Street brings together some of the most well-known name in Canadian literature, as well as experts from Canada’s best magazines.
For the children’s there will be children’s authors and illustrators with literacy-focused entertainment, and a large tent area for creative crafts and other activities.
Everyone will enjoy the food demonstrations by successful cookbook authors!
September 30 – Oct 3: Fall Home Show
Fall Home Show is hosted by Better Living Centre at Exhibition Place.
This show brings together many home decor, renovation, lifestyle companies, as well as celebrities to hold their promise that you will be “inspired, enlightened, informed, and energized with helpful advice, home solutions, and the coolest new products for in and around your home.”
Fall Home Show will have a cooking stage, casalife Style Lab, and a Habitat ReStore Recycled Dwelling which is created completely from recycled materials!
You wont want to miss the exclusive access sale that’s in support of the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation.
